Jodie Whittaker's Netflix movie confirms earlier UK screenings
Jodie Whittaker's upcoming movie That Christmas will be screened in select UK cinemas before it lands on Netflix.
The latest festive comedy co-written and produced by Richard Curtis will have its world premiere at the 68th BFI London Film Festival, which runs from October 9 through October 20, as this year's Family Gala.
That Christmas will be one of 39 movies to have its world premiere at the festival and, like other Gala screenings, it will also be screened around the UK at the same time as its premiere in London.
That Christmas will then debut on Netflix on December 4.

Director Simon Otto's fantasy comedy is premiering under the Family strand at the BFI London Film Festival, where it will topline a special gala event.
The official synopsis for the holiday comedy is as follows: "That Christmas follows a series of entwined tales about love and loneliness, family and friends, and Santa Claus making a big mistake, not to mention an enormous number of turkeys!"
That Christmas is being screened at the festival alongside another Bill Nighy film Joy (co-starring James Norton), Saoirse Ronan's Blitz, and the Andrew Garfield-Florence Pugh romantic drama We Live in Time, among more than 250 features, shorts, series, and immersive works.

Jodie Whittaker is joined in That Christmas' voice cast by Succession's Brian Cox as Santa Claus, Killing Eve's Fiona Shaw, Peaky Blinders' Alex Macqueen, Taskmaster's Katherine Parkinson, and the legendary Bill Nighy.
Bill previously worked with That Christmas co-writer/producer Richard Curtis on the seasonal classic Love Actually, as well as the TV movie The Girl in the Café.
Director Simon Otto has had major hits through his work as an animator on the How to Train Your Dragon series and Kung Fu Panda.
That Christmas will premiere at the BFI London Film Festival in October, before streaming on Netflix worldwide from December 4, 2024.
