Kilburn shooting victim named as neighbours pay tribute to 'sunshine of the community'
A man shot dead in north west London has been described as “the sunshine of the community” by shocked neighbours.
The victim of the shooting has been named locally as Tikquaan Walters, 28, who lived just yards from where he died in west Kilburn.
The personal trainer was treated by paramedics at the scene on the Mozart estate but died just before midnight, about forty-five minutes after he was shot on Wednesday.
Locals said Mr Walters had attended Roehampton University and was “bright and friendly”.
A neighbour on Bravington Road told the Standard: “He was the sunshine of the community. He was just the best neighbour, the best person around here.
“I have known him for so long, we are heartbroken. It must be a case of mistaken identity, no-one would want to hurt Tikquaan, he was a kind, caring person, the best of us, bright and friendly, a great person to be around.
“His family are obviously devastated. No-one here can understand why this happened.”
Police cordons are in place as forensics officers scour for clues and detectives study CCTV and doorbell footage from around the area.
Officers are also carrying out door-to-door enquiries.
Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley in Specialist Crime, who is in charge of the operation, said: "The incident took place in a residential street and as a result I am sure there are people who may have captured footage on their doorbell or dash cameras that could be vitally important for us.
“I need those people to check immediately and share any material they have with us immediately.
"Equally if you saw or heard anything before the incident, or after it, I need you to speak to my team so that we can have the best possible chance of finding whoever responsible for this horrific crime and bringing them to justice."
