Kingsman 3: Everything you need to know
Kingsman 3 still doesn't have an official release date and despite plans for it to start filming this year, that is now no longer happening.
In February 2024, Matthew Vaughn revealed to Collider that filming won't happen until 2025 at the earliest "because Taron's bloody busy".
"He's doing another movie, the guy that did Blackbird, they're doing another big TV show. So I have to wait for his availability as well," Vaughn explained.
Kingsman 3 definitely is happening and, as planned, it'll bring an end to the Eggsy and Harry Hart story. Vaughn also has plans for a sequel to The King's Man and future Argylle movies, which was revealed to be part of the Kingsman universe.
But before we get too far ahead of ourselves, here's everything you need to know about Kingsman 3, rumoured to be titled Kingsman: The Blue Blood.
Kingsman 3 potential release date: When will Kingsman 3 be released?
As mentioned above, we don't yet have a confirmed release date for Kingsman 3 as of August 2024.
Assuming filming does start in 2025 as Vaughn plans, then the earliest we can probably expect it is in 2026. But things should move relatively quickly once everybody is available to film the threequel.
"Act One is being written. Act Three is being written. Act Two needs some work. We know how it ends, we know how it begins," Vaughn told Collider in February 2024 of the script, so development is well under way.
Kingsman 3 cast: Who's coming back for Kingsman 3?
Taron Egerton and Colin Firth will of course be back as Eggsy and Harry Hart for the closing movie of their trilogy.
"We've got to finish off the Eggsy and Harry relationship. The final chapter of their relationship needs to be told," Vaughn told Digital Spy back in May 2019.
Elsewhere, it's less clear who will be back in the third movie.
Both Mark Strong's Merlin/Hamish Mycroft and Sophie Cookson's Roxy were killed off in the second movie, but considering Harry Hart returned after being shot in the head, you can't rule anything out.
At the end of the sequel, Channing Tatum's Agent Tequila joined Kingsman, so expect to see him back. We could also see the likes of Halle Berry's Agent Whiskey and Jeff Bridges's Champ back if we see Statesman again.
Given the timeline, we'd be surprised if anybody from The King's Man (which was set during World War I) made an appearance. There could always be flashbacks though to bring some of the cast back.
Vaughn has plans to bring the prequel cast back in their own sequel which, again, would be set before Kingsman: The Secret Service.
The prequel movie didn't set the box office alight though with only $126 million worldwide (the lowest gross of the series to date), so that might not be happening any more unless it's had a boost from its Disney+ release.
Kingsman 3 plot: What will Kingsman 3 be about?
Outside of it telling the finale of Eggsy and Harry Hart's story, we don't know all that much about the plot for the third movie. As with both previous Kingsman movies though, expect the unexpected.
Unsurprisingly, the focus will be on the central duo with Vaughn telling Collider in December 2021 that it'll be a "will they or won't they" story.
"It's the gang coming back together and it's one of those moments that when we wrote the screenplay, it was very much about, 'OK, I saw how people loved the relationship of Eggsy and Harry,'" he explained.
"So we just came up with this thing, what could be the ultimate reason for them to either fall in love or to hate each other forever?"
Don't expect to get any hints from the third story in the Kingsman comics series, which was titled Kingsman: The Red Diamond. While the first Kingsman movie shared its title with its comic book source material, it didn't tell exactly the same story.
The sequel was totally different to the comic book sequel too, so we doubt the third movie will take any inspiration from the comic.

The movie hasn't even started filming yet, so there's a long time to wait for any footage, we're afraid.
