Lesley Matuszak has died at age 66

PEORIA - A prominent Peoria citizen has died.

Lesley Matuszak, 66, was pronounced dead at her home in the 1600 block of W. Moss Ave. at 1:03 p.m. Sept. 28, according to the Peoria County Coroner's Office.

Peoria Police Department, Peoria Fire Department, and Advanced Medical Transport were called to a home at 12:44 p.m. No foul play is suspected.

Well-known in the community for her philanthropic efforts, Matuszak worked as president and CEO of WTVP Television for the last four years. Prior to that she was the CEO of Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Peoria from 2003 to 2019.

"Her legacy is deep," said Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood. "Lesley left a significant impact in Peoria with everything she gave to the community, and she will be dearly missed."
