Netflix's hit true-crime series is getting a movie adaptation
Netflix's hit true-crime series Worst Roommate Ever is getting a movie adaptation.
Directed by Bridesmaids boss Paul Feig, the Blumhouse feature will centre around a newly single woman who is conned by a "serial squatter" (via The Hollywood Reporter).
"A newly single woman finds a seemingly perfect gentleman to sublet the spare room in her dream home, only to learn his deceit goes beyond a phony name and application," reads the official logline for the film.
"She has unwittingly invited a serial squatter into her home, and he won't leave without a fight."

Inspired by a New York Magazine article by William Brennan, the 2022 series featured stories about roommates with violent intentions who upturned the lives of their unsuspecting victims.
The show was renewed for a second season in May, with four new episodes landing on the streaming service on June 26.
It's understood Blumhouse always intended to adapt Brennan's article into both a TV series and feature film, but the big screen adaptation wasn't greenlit until Feig joined the project.

Upon the film's announcement, Feig expressed his excitement at teaming up with Blumhouse's CEO Jason Blum.
"Jason and I have been trying to find the perfect project to collaborate on for years and this story is tailor-made to deliver the scares, thrills, emotion and comedy of dread that both he and I like to entertain audiences with," he said in a statement.
"In other words, I couldn't be happier to have Jason as the best roommate ever for this film."
Blum added: "Paul is the perfect director for this because his work always manages to strike a balance between the dark and the light, and I'm very excited to see everything he will bring to this story."
Worst Roommate Ever doesn't have a release date yet.
