Pink dolphin trapped on riverbank rescued by Bolivian locals

A pink dolphin stranded on a riverbank in Bolivia was rescued by locals in Yapacani on Monday, 19 August.

Footage showed the marine mammal swimming away after being helped to safety.

A local resident said he discovered the animal in distress in the river.

“I came to save it. I don’t want to let him go because there is little water here. So we called Efrain Clemente (Head of Citizen Security of San Carlos) to take it to a deeper place because it would die here.”
