RuPaul's Drag Race UK crowns series 5 winner

RuPaul's Drag Race UK has crowned the winner of series 5, after Tomara Thomas, Ginger Johnson and Michael Marouli competed in one final challenge for the crown.
After 10 weeks and plenty of dramatique moments, Ginger Johnson was crowned as the UK's next drag superstar.

Rewinding to the start of the episode, the three queens were tasked with writing and recording lyrics for Ru's song 'Spotlight: The Remix'. They also had to film a music video for it, a first for Drag Race UK, which cast them as sexy cat burglars.
Before getting into the challenge, each of them sat down with Ru and Michelle to talk about their journeys, both on the show and as queer people throughout their lives. To make it even more emotional, Ru and Michelle brought out Ginger and Michael's partners, and Tomara's mum.
In rehearsals with choreographer Claudimar Neto (who used to teach Tomara hip-hop dancing before she took up drag), Ginger struggled to be sexy with her moves, which came easier to the other two, so was encouraged to play into the comedy element.

In the video, Ginger pulled silly faces and served lyrics about sausages, while Michael and Tomara performed lyrics about wanting the crown with lots of high-energy choreography. The video turned into the queens bursting onto the runway to perform one final chorus routine with the returning queens.
The final runway of the series was Grand Finale Eleganza, where the trio showed off their most stunning looks for Ru, Michelle, Graham Norton and Alan Carr.
After that, Tomara placed third and it was down to Ginger and Michael to perform in one last lip-sync — to Erasure's 'A Little Respect' — and Ru declared that Ginger wasn't just winner, baby, but the winner, baby.
... At least until next year, when she'll have to hand the sceptre over to the winner of series 6, which has already been announced.
