The Nintendo Switch is getting re-releases of two Sims games later this year.

While it's not The Sims 4, spin-off MySims and its sequel MySims Kingdom will be coming to the Nintendo console as part of one bundle.

As revealed during today's Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase, MySims: Cozy Bundle will launch on November 19, 2024.

Rumours of a MySims release on Switch surfaced last week, following a number of retailer listings plus a claim by Kotaku that a port was "real and coming soon".

Initially developed by EA Redwood Shores, MySims first launched on the Nintendo DS and Wii in September 2007 and, despite middling reviews, became a cult classic in the long-running franchise.

There are similarities to Animal Crossing, with the player moving to a town and tasked with restoring it back to its former glory.

Customisation is a huge part of the game. By redeveloping the town and collecting blueprints for new designs, the player attract new residents and form relationships with them.

Characters such as Chef Gino and DJ Candy are among those returning to the game.

MySims spawned a number of sequels, with MySims Kingdom being the first one in 2008.

The player is asked to make a run-down kingdom thrive and prosper again, and they can do this by collecting mana, scrolls, and recipes to help customise and give the island new life.

Elsewhere, Maxis is currently working on the next iteration of The Sims, which has a working title of Project Rene.

Given PlayStation and Xbox have enjoyed feature parity with PC/Mac (mods aside) for The Sims 4, EA's comparative lack of support for the Switch has been notable.

The upcoming MySims bundle could indicate that EA is now more open to appealing to fans who play on Nintendo platforms.

Last month saw the release of The Sims 4's latest expansion Lovestruck, which revolved around new gameplay for dating and romantic relationships.

MySims: Cozy Bundle is out now on Nintendo Switch on November 19, 2024.
