Steven Knight's returning hit BBC drama gets first look
Jack O'Connell leads the special forces in the first look at the return of the BBC's SAS: Rogue Heroes.
Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight's historical drama looks at the creation of a special commando unit that operated behind enemy lines during World War II.
The second season moves the unit from Cairo to the European front, after the unit's leader Lieutenant David Stirling (Sex Education's Connor Swindells) has been captured by Axis forces.
Stirling's second-in-command Paddy Mayne (O'Connell) takes control of the SAS as David's brother Bill Stirling (The Great's Gwilym Lee) arrives to form a second unit to combat enemy encroachment.

As the war raged on in 1943, the future of the SAS was in doubt due to the GHQ doubting its reliability to continue waging such heavy fighting behind Axis lines.
Returning cast members for season two include Sofia Boutella (Rebel Moon) and Dominic West (The Crown), while newcomers Con O'Neill (Happy Valley), Jack Barton (Heartstopper) and Mark Rowley (The Witcher: Blood Origin) join the main cast.
Edward Bennett (Industry) and Paolo De Vita (Anonymous) have been cast in the second season of SAS Rogue Heroes as well.

The BBC formally renewed SAS Rogue Heroes on the same day, as its first season came to an end in December 2022.
Lindsay Salt, director of BBC Drama, announced the show's renewal: "The fantastic response and huge iPlayer figures for SAS Rogue Heroes is a testament to Steven Knight's incredible skill for turning our history into modern, must-see TV.
"BBC viewers have really taken this series to their hearts, and we're delighted to be working with Steven and Kudos to bring the Rogue Heroes' exciting next chapter to life."
SAS Rogue Heroes season one is available to stream now on the BBC iPlayer. A second season will be coming soon to BBC One and MGM+ in the US.
