Taylor Swift has shared a sweet tribute to the cast of Deadpool & Wolverine.

The 'I Can Do It with a Broken Heart' singer posted a message on her Instagram Story alongside a photo with Deadpool & Wolverine's Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds, as well as director Shawn Levy and Blake Lively.

The tongue-in-cheek note referred to her close friendship with Lively and Reynolds, as she wrote: "Over the past few years I have watched one of my best friends on this planet pour every bit of his heart, soul, sweat, time, energy, jokes, pain, joy, rebellion, darkness, and magic into this film.

"He’s created the best work of his life, and this film feels like an actual joy portal, a wild escape from reality, and an abs sandwich. I don’t know how he did it. But that’s just Hugh for you!"

She then nodded to Reynolds and Lively: "These other randoms crashed the photo and we were too polite to ask them to leave."

Swift shared a ticket link and encouraged her fans to go see Deadpool & Wolverine, before referring to Reynolds' character Wade Wilson as "my godkids’ sperm donor".

Her post is particularly notable since there were rumours Taylor would actually appear in Deadpool & Wolverine as X-Men character Dazzler, though that was not the case.

Earlier in the summer, multiple media outlets tried to tamp down fan excitement by clarifying that Swift wasn't in the finished film.

The sequel does have some pretty epic cameos — including dozens of variants in the Deadpool Corps and a heavily-rumoured celebrity cameo as Lady Deadpool. Reynolds has played down hopes for even more cameos in another sequel, having described Deapool & Wolverine as a "one-off".

Deadpool & Wolverine is out now in cinemas.
