Texas has quite literally struck gold with the signing of Madison Booker.

The Longhorns' incoming freshman women's basketball player won her third gold medal with Team USA at the FIBA World Cup this past weekend. Booker recorded seven points and 10 rebounds as the team came away from Madrid with a 69-66 victory over host country Spain. Overall, the team finished with a perfect 7-0 record.

Booker's other two gold medals came at the U16 Americas Championship and the U17 World Cup. She also was part of the inaugural U.S. women's team at the 2023 Nike Hoop Summit, where the U.S. team defeated the World Team 100-79.

A 6-foot-1 small forward from Germantown High School in Mississippi, Booker is one of five players on the Team USA roster listed among the top 20 players for the 2023 recruiting class. She was the only one among the three in UT's 2023 recruiting class with a top-20 ranking and coach Vic Schaefer expects her to contribute immediately.

"She's a great team basketball player," Schaefer said. "I think that's probably one of the reasons why USA Basketball likes her so much, because she does play that way. She's not a person that needs to take 10, 12 shots a game."
