Noel and Liam Gallagher have finally put aside their differences and announced that Oasis will reunite for a 2025 tour.

It will be the legendary Britpop band's first live shows in 16 years after they split up following a huge row in 2009 prompted by a backstage brawl at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris. Famed for the success of their first two albums — Definitely Maybe, and (What's The Story) Morning Glory? — which spawned some of their biggest hits including Supersonic, Rock ‘N’ Roll Star, Cigarettes & Alcohol, Wonderwall, Don’t Look Back In Anger and Champagne Supernova, the band always enjoyed a tempestuous relationship, with several band members coming and going.

But it was the fractured relationship between brothers Noel and Liam that eventually led to their downfall in 2009 after years of infighting. Since their split, the two have been locked in a war of words, often taking digs at each other in the media or at shows.

At the NME Awards in 2018, Liam told the PA news agency that his brother was the villain of the year, saying: "He’s worse than Donald Trump. He’s the biggest liar and biggest faker in the business."

In 2015, Noel said he would "never forgive" his brother for walking out on the band during a series of live shows before they broke up.

In an interview with the Daily Mirror, he said: "You would have to go out and say in English to a load of perplexed Japanese people ‘I know you don’t understand what I am f****** saying, but the singer has gone off, so I am going to sing the f****** rest of the songs’. I could never forgive him for that, ever."

Time is great healer though, and amid Noel's latest divorce, the brothers have decided to get the band back together for 14 UK and Ireland dates. Confirming the, they said: "The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised."
