Don’t leave the Arconia yet because there’s another murder to solve with Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short) and Mabel (Selena Gomez) in Only Murders in the Building season 4.

While most of us would probably just move after so many deadly incidents had taken place in the same New York apartment block, that hasn’t deterred three case-cracking inhabitants of this fancy building.

Following a third outing that upped the ante and featured guest appearances by stars like Paul Rudd, Matthew Broderick and Meryl Streep, Disney+’s popular murder mystery series is gearing up for a fourth whodunnit that’s set to feature even more twisty turns and starry names.

Only Murders in the Building season 4 will debut on Disney+ on Tuesday, 27 August, with new episodes set to be released weekly.

When we last left the Arconia, it was finally revealed that the producers of the series’ fictional stage show Death Rattle Dazzle, Cliff (Wesley Taylor) and Donna (Linda Emond), were behind the very public, on-stage murder of actor Ben Glenroy (Rudd).

With that case solved, viewers were soon faced with a brand new head-scratcher to puzzle over when Charles’s long-time stunt double Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch) was shot dead by a mystery assailant through an open window whilst inside Charles’ apartment.

So who killed Sazz? We’ll have to wait for season four to find out.

Things are about to get a bit meta in the Only Murders universe.

After the cliffhanger ending of season 3, our case-cracking trio are left reeling following Pataki’s sudden and mysterious death — and determined to figure out who’s behind it.

Their investigation eventually leads them all the way to Hollywood where they discover that a film is in the works based on their growing list of cases.

The show's official synopsis sheds even further light on what new episodes have in store: “As Charles, Oliver and Mabel race back to New York, they embark on an even more epic journey — traversing their building’s courtyard to delve into the twisted lives of the Arconia’s West Tower residents.”

“Hello Hollywood!” declares Steve Martin’s Charles in the teaser trailer for the new season, which was released in May 2024. The clip brings viewers transports viewers to LA — via the Arconia — after Sazz’s murder, and teases the A-list actors joining the “starriest season yet”. Watch it below.

We already know that Martin, Short and Gomez will be returning to their roles of former actor Charles, theatre director Oliver and artist neighbour Mabel respectively for Only Murders season 4.

Streep’s struggling actress Loretta Durkin, who joined the show in season 3, will also be back, along with Michael Cyril Creighton, who plays Howard, a cat-loving Arconia resident. Da’Vine Joy Randolph, fresh from her Oscar-winning performance in The Holdovers, will reprise her role as Detective Dee Williams.

They’ll be accompanied by a glittering array of guest stars, including Desperate Housewives’ Eva Longoria, Schitt’s Creek star Eugene Levy and The Hangover actor Zach Galifianakis.

Levy, Longoria and Galifianakis will be playing Charles, Oliver and Mabel respectively in the in-series film version of the Only Murders in the Building podcast.

Also checking into the Arconia for season four are Bridesmaids star Melissa McCarthy, The Big Sick’s Kumail Nanjiani and Curb Your Enthusiasm’s Richard Kind.

And that’s not all — former Saturday Night Live star Molly Shannon will play a hot-shot Los Angeles businesswoman who gets drawn into the trio’s case in New York.

You’re The Worst star Desmin Borges and Brand New Cherry Flavor’s Siena Werber will also star, alongside Lilian Rebelo, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Jin Ha and Catherine Cohen.
