Pit Bull Mix Totally Gives Herself Away in Game of Hide-n-Seek

Play is very important for dogs...but that doesn't mean they're always good at it. Nope. Take Rhubarb. The dog is an enthusiastic participant, but her technique needs work. In a video her owner recently shared, it shows the dog trying to play hide-n-seek with her mama — and then immediately giving herself up.

Whoopsie! It looks like Rhubarb didn't realize that she has a major tell when it comes to hiding.

The Pit Bull/Labrador Retriever mix loves to play the game she just needs to watch out for one thing: her tail. In the clip her mama shared, it shows the dog hiding under a pillow. Well most of her. There was one body part that was waving in the air like a giant "HERE I AM!" flag.

Hmmm, where oh where could Rhubarb be?

"Rhubarb loves to play but she's not very good at it," her mom wrote in the video's text overlay. "She gets too excited," her mom joked in the caption. It's okay Rhubarb. We all get a little excited when playing too.

People in the comments section couldn't stop laughing. "Until you lifted the blanket I had no idea where she was," joked one commenter. "It's like a kid giggling from their hide spot," someone else teased. "You have to say ‘where is she?’ ‘Where did she go?’ Etc etc. The tail wag gets bigger and bigger. And then when you find her make a big deal of it," another person suggested. "The fact that the wag gets even harder when you reach for the blanket. It’s precious," someone else chimed in.

Best Games to Play with Your Dog

If your dog is anything like Rhubarb (and most of them are), they love playing games too. If you're tired of the same old game of fetch, here are a few other fun games you can play with your pup that they'll love.

A treasure hunt is a sure-fire way to keep your dog engaged. Take small containers (like boxes) and turn them upside down. Then place your dog's favorite treats under one (one some) of the boxes. Allow your dog to sniff through the boxes until they find the treat.

Another game that is sure to get out tons of energy is Play-Wild Sits. The game is actually pretty simple. First you'll want to rile your dog up. Really go for it. Then, when they're really moving, instruct them to sit. At first it'll be a little tricky, but eventually your dog will be able to go from jumping around excitedly to patiently sitting in no time flat.

Games aren't just good ways to pass the time, they're really important for dogs and their development. So the next time your dog tries to initiate a tug of war with your sock, you might want to let them.
