When a rescue dog has been through as much as Aruba has, it can be hard to learn to trust again. After all, humans were responsible for her horrible health conditions that led to her rescue, but she's already beginning to love life again, thanks to her amazing rescue team.

Muddy Paws NYC rescued the Pit Bull gal before sending her home with foster mom Isabel Klee, AKA @simonsits, on September 11. Isabel, her boyfriend, and her dog Simon are pros at welcoming foster friends into their home, and they gave Aruba the calm welcome that she deserved. In fact, her first day in her foster home couldn't have gone any better!

What a cutie pie! Aruba's sweet, squishy face could charm just about anyone, but it would be such a gift to see her running around happily instead of hesitantly sulking around her new home. As every dog rescuer knows, however, it's only a matter of time before she feels at home.

In the meantime, Isabel, her boyfriend, and Simon are doing all they can to help her feel comfortable and cared for. After everything she's been through, she deserves every last moment of pampering! This poor dog was used for breeding for the entirety of her life until she was simply abandoned. By then, she had many C-section scars and a severe prolapse from her bottom. She was dropped off at an NYC animal shelter with a plastic bag wrapped around her bottom half, where they rushed her to emergency surgery.

Despite her traumatic past, this precious Pit Bull absolutely adores her new foster family. She's learning more and more about love every day, and her foster brother is showing her how to be a dog.

"I swear it’s like Simon understands that these other dogs just need to borrow a little bit of your love in order to heal," noticed commenter @annafromtheinternet. This rescue dog is an angel on Earth! But what makes him such a wonderful foster sibling to timid pups like Aruba?

Can Your Dog Be a Foster Sibling?

Plenty of dog owners feel called to foster a pet at some point in their lives, but it's important to make sure that their current dog is up for it, too. Some dogs, for example, are prone to resource-guarding or defensive behavior, particularly if they've never lived with another dog before. It can be tough to predict how your dog will act until they're with another dog, so try out a few playdates before applying to be a dog foster parent.

A pro foster sibling like Simon will need to go with the flow and let the foster pup take the lead. They'll need to listen to their human's commands with accuracy and speed to avoid any unintentional conflict, but social butterflies like Simon will take to this naturally. There's no doubt that he's going to make Aruba's time with his family as healing and special as possible!
