Seagull Photobombs Friends' Cute Video at the Beach and It's Totally Epic

All one woman wanted was a nice video at the beach, is that so wrong? Sadly her hopes were crushed in the weirdest way possible, when a seagull photobombed her recording.

It's not about getting a photo. It's about getting the photo. But we guess the bird didn't get the memo about picture etiquette.

We really feel for Abs, she just wanted to commemorate a fun day at the beach with her friends and instead things took a wrong turn.

The woman did so much work to get a good video; she set up her camera and then she and her crew lined up at the water's edge and waited for magic to happen. And well... you can see how things ended up.

"POV: you're trying to get a cute video but the seagull decided it was his moment," the video's text overlay reads.

We'd call that some diva behavior. The seagull saw the spotlight and decided to take their shot. People in the comments section were cracking up. "Trying to get a cute video?? You GOT a cute video!!" exclaimed one person. "And it was his moment," someone else teased. "I don't think I've ever seen a seagull that didn't think every moment was THEIR moment," added another commenter. "It made sure you got multiple angles and did a fancy walk away too," someone else pointed out.

Are Seagulls Dangerous?

A staple at the beach, it can sometimes be hard to know whether seagulls are friendly or not. They certainly aren't the nicest when there's a tasty snack around. They can be downright vicious.

For the most part, seagulls will leave you alone. They're afraid of humans and won't bother you. But because seagulls interact with humans pretty frequently, some of them have lost their fear of humans. That's when things go wrong. There have been some instances where seagulls have gotten aggressive.

In some very rare cases, seagulls have been known to snatch small dogs from their owners. One dog, Gizmo, was stolen from his garden by seagulls in 2019. Seagulls are also strong enough to snatch other small animals, like rabbits.

Seagulls are very smart and will also go after humans — although they mostly do this for food. Humans that get too close to seagull nests can also face their wrath. So it's best to keep your distance and keep your food covered and close to you.

This is all to say, you shouldn't be afraid of seagulls. But they can certainly make your trip to the beach an adventure.
