Whether or not this was enough to prompt Chelsea co-owners Behdad Eghbali and Todd Boehly to kiss and make up remains to be seen, but the pair will have enjoyed their trip to East London – even if they did have to sit next to each other.

The pair made their first public appearance since it emerged they want to buy each other out, and they will be encouraged that things may finally be coming together on the pitch after watching Nicolas Jackson put Chelsea on course for a comfortable victory.

Head coach Enzo Maresca revealed after the game that Eghbali and Boehly had visited the dressing room, saying: “It’s always good when you win the game for them and especially because they were here. They were in the changing room (after the game) and they were all happy.”

Since being beaten by Wolverhampton Wanderers in February, Chelsea have only lost Premier League games to Arsenal and Manchester City, and this was the first time the Blues have won their first three away games of a new season since 2017-18, under Antonio Conte.

Whisper it quietly, but Chelsea may not be the basket case on the pitch many would like you to believe. Since the beginning of May only Erling Haaland has scored more League goals than Jackson, who produced two cool finishes in the first half at the London Stadium.

Jackson added an assist shortly after half-time, as Cole Palmer netted Chelsea’s third, and West Ham lost their first three home League games of the season for the first time in the club’s history.

Having been replaced by matchwinner Christopher Nkunku at Bournemouth, Jackson started Saturday’s early game like a man with a point to prove and showed off his new Michael Jackson Thriller celebration after opening the scoring.

Maresca, who confirmed he, too, is a Michael Jackson fan, said: “Hopefully, he can dance more! In terms of his numbers, he is doing really well and off the ball he is working hard.”

Starting his first game for the club, Jadon Sancho notched up his second Chelsea assist in two appearances when he played Jackson in down the left and he slotted the ball beautifully between the legs of West Ham goalkeeper Alphonse Areola.

Jackson should have come up with a Moses-inspired celebration after his second goal in the 18th minute, given the way the West Ham defence parted like the Red Sea to let him in. It was a Mosies Caicedo pass that sent the striker in on goal and once again he found the back of the net.

West Ham technical director Tim Steidten had looked pretty pleased with himself during a pre-match interview with broadcasters, but there was not much for manager Julen Lopetegui to smile about.

The home fans would no doubt like Steidten to explain the decision to sign midfielder Guido Rodriguez, who was hauled off after 37 terrible minutes.

Guido Rodriguez

Lopetegui confirmed the change was tactical and not enforced, but said: “If you make a change before half time, it is not the fault of the player. I can do better. Do not only watch the player, but watch myself in these moments.”

Lopetegui appealed for a penalty after Crysencio Summerville went down in the area. Wesley Fofana had grabbed at his arm, but VAR did not overturn referee Sam Barrott’s decision. West Ham briefly thought Mohammed Kudus had pulled a goal back before realising it had been correctly ruled out for offside.

Those Hammers fans who had grown tired of David Moyes may be wishing they had not, given their club’s start this season. Any hope of a second-half fightback was killed less than two minutes after the restart, when Jackson set up Palmer to extend Chelsea’s advantage.

It was hard to tell whether the supporters in the gangways were heading back to their seats after half time or making an early break for the exits. There were jeers of dissatisfaction at Lopetegui’s decision to take off West Ham’s brightest player, Summerville, before the hour mark and the Spaniard can forget about enjoying any sort of honeymoon period.

Of the reaction of the fans, Lopetegui said: “I’m not worried. They have the right to complain, for sure. We have to do better. We have a lot of time to do this.”

Only a good save from Areola prevented substitute Nkunku making it even worse for the home side, who spent around £100 million on new signings this summer and look worse for it.

Chelsea, on the other hand, may be ready to show that Eghbali and Boehly they have not wasted their billions, even if only one of them may be in charge long enough to see if this really is the start of something that can last.

Final thoughts from Maresca

03:04 PM BST

Bowen reflects on defeat

Following West Ham’s 3-0 defeat, captain Jarrod Bowen told TNT Sports: “I don’t think we were ever in the game really, which is probably an awful thing to say. But if we’re being honest the goals they scored were very easy on our part - two almost gifts.

“That’s the thing in this league you have to be switched on at every moment and they punished us with the first goal and then the second goal again - I haven’t seen it back - but on the pitch it felt like it was quite easy to play through.”

02:56 PM BST

Cole full of praise for Jackson

Discussing Nicolas Jackson, Joe Cole told TNT Sports: “I think Enzo Maresca saw they could break past West Ham and Nicolas Jackson is fantastic at that. It’s what he does.

”[He has] good numbers. He is a young man, a young player, he’s learning his trade. People talked about Didier Drogba’s first two seasons when he wasn’t as prolific as he later became. Nevertheless, he has scored the goals and he will get better.

“He needs to just keep improving, be a bit more composed and [gain] more confidence. He will bounce into the next game now. I am very, very pleased for him.”

02:51 PM BST

Palmer crucial to Chelsea

02:48 PM BST

Jackson’s confidence is ‘growing higher’

Discussing his confidence, Nicolas Jackson told TNT Sports: “(It’s) growing higher with my team-mates, they help me a lot and they have confidence in me.

“We keep going. This one is finished and next week we go onto another one.

“The most important thing is for the team to win.

“I am happy to play always. To fight for the team and the team to win is the most important thing.”

02:41 PM BST

Solid foundations for Chelsea

02:36 PM BST

‘We try to block out the noise’, says Palmer

The scorer of Chelsea’s third goal, Cole Palmer, told TNT Sports: “A tough place to come and a good three points, we are happy.

“Everybody knows he [Nicolas Jackson] is a top player - he needs to keep going. The Chelsea fans and players rate him highly - we know what he is capable of.

“There will always be noise, we try to block it out and listen to the manager. We have a good manager and it can only help us to get better.”

02:31 PM BST

Three from three on the road for Maresca

Enzo Maresca is now just the eighth manager to win each of his first three away games in the Premier League, and the first since his mentor Pep Guardiola in September 2016.

Chelsea have scored ten goals in those three victories - a feat they last achieved in the 1925/26 campaign.

02:29 PM BST

Chelsea were ‘dominant’, says Cole

Speaking on TNT Sports, ex-Chelsea and West Ham midfielder Joe Cole said: “Chelsea were dominant and they were strong - all the things that Chelsea fans have been longing to say about their team.

“They looked sharp and organised from the back. West Ham couldn’t lay a glove on them. It was a real strong showing and the manager will be delighted.”

02:27 PM BST

Good start for Maresca

Boos from the West Ham fans who bothered to stay until the end and who can blame them? An easy win for Chelsea - their third on the road this season - and the Blues have made a very decent start to the season under head coach Enzo Maresca. West Ham have lost three home games already.

02:24 PM BST

Full time: West Ham 0 Chelsea 3

The referee brings this one to an end and boos ring around the London Stadium as West Ham lose their first three home league matches in a season for the first time.

There will be a lot to concerned about for Lopetegui after Chelsea were able to slice through them time and time again.

The two goals from Jackson in the first half took the game away from West Ham before Palmer added a third soon after the interval.

Chelsea climb to second on goal difference ahead of the rest of the weekend’s fixtures while West Ham remain in 14th.

02:23 PM BST

90+4 mins: West Ham 0 Chelsea 3

Chelsea look to break one last time but Neto slows it down allowing West Ham players to get back into shape and Chelsea recycle it back through defence.

Soler picks up a yellow for quite a rash challenge on Cucurella who was sliding in front of him as he chased a loose ball. There was a quick VAR check but it was soon waved away. A final Chelsea attack ends with Felix going just wide of the left post from the edge of the area.

02:19 PM BST

90+1 mins: West Ham 0 Chelsea 3

Madueke wins a foul in front of the technical areas as Jackson is awarded the player of the match award for his two goals. There will be four minutes of added time to conclude this one.

02:18 PM BST

89 mins: West Ham 0 Chelsea 3

Caicedo is there again to block Soler’s shot from the edge of the box before winning the free-kick to end the spell of pressure on his side.

With the stadium emptying and the 90 minute-mark approaching, the game has started to slow right down. Can West Ham find a consolation?

02:14 PM BST

86 mins: West Ham 0 Chelsea 3

Another important tackle from Caicedo who has been quietly excellent again his afternoon. Antonio then picks up a yellow for a frustrated foul on the Ecuadorian. Dewsbury-Hall will come on for the closing stages in place of Fernandez who has skippered the side today.

Maresca continues to bark orders from outside his technical error. He will be so hungry to hang on to this clean sheet, particularly after their defensive frailties last season.

02:10 PM BST

81 mins: West Ham 0 Chelsea 3

More West Ham fans continue to leave as Kilman picks up a yellow card for a careless foul on Felix.

Sanchez does well to punch a Wan-Bissaka cross clear - he is looked a lot more convinving this afternoon than he has done for much of his time at Stamford Bridge. Perhaps that penalty save against Bournemouth has given that bit of confidence needed to kick on.

02:05 PM BST

77 mins: West Ham 0 Chelsea 3

Madueke has space on the right as he bears down on the West Ham box but his cut back looking for Nkunku is cut out for a corner.

What a save from Areola! After the corner is played short, a floated cross finds Colwill at the back post who heads it back for Nkunku five yards out but his header is saved remarkably by the West Ham keeper. Nkunku shouldn’t have given him the chance though.

02:03 PM BST

74 mins: West Ham 0 Chelsea 3

A couple more changes for West Ham as Emerson and Paqueta make way for Cresswell for Irving who makes his debut after being sent out on loan to Germany last season.

A chance for Irving to strike from range arrives straight away and while the technique was nice it was comfortable for Sanchez. Antonio attempts the ‘Welbeck’ flick but doesn’t quite get the connection right.

02:01 PM BST

Palmer hungry for more

Cole Palmer did not look delighted to be substituted, but Enzo Maresca has already made it clear that he’s not afraid to annoy his players for the greater good. This was the perfect opportunity to give Palmer a rest and use his very talented bench.

02:00 PM BST

72 mins: West Ham 0 Chelsea 3

It’s all Chelsea now as they win another corner. Eventually Neto floats a ball into the back post before an offside flag offers some reprieve for West Ham. Kudus looks dangerous again as he beats Caicedo down West Ham’s left but his cross is gathered by the Chelsea keeper.

Sanchez does the same moments later from a floated Paqueta cross. Chelsea look to break quickly again and Neto wins a corner down their left. It’s West Ham’s turn to counter from a corner but Cucurella has other ideas as he chops Kudus down and picks up the booking.

01:57 PM BST

67 mins: West Ham 0 Chelsea 3

An Argentina-Brazil battle developing as Paqueta brings down Fernandez and the verbals continue long after the challenge. Chelsea combine nicely into the box before the ball drops to Felix who, just left of the penalty spot, fires his effort into the side netting.

Chelsea come back again and you’re just waiting for one of them to let fly. Eventually it’s Caicedo but a sliding tackle sees his effort deflected wide. The corner nearly catches Areola out but he does well to punch clear.

01:53 PM BST

64 mins: West Ham 0 Chelsea 3

Neto tracks to back to block Antonio’s cross out for another West Ham corner. Sanchez opts for the punch this time and punches well. Chelsea are in again straight away though. Madueke is fed and breaks into the left of the box and with options he decides to shoot but it’s straight at Areola.

Chelsea’s goalscorers Palmer and Jackson are taken off in place of Felix and Nkunku. Quite the strength in depth for Chelsea in attack this season.

01:50 PM BST

62 mins: West Ham 0 Chelsea 3

Kudus, now on the left does well to keep the ball alive and hook it back across the six-yard-box but Colwill is there to clear. Moments later and the ball falls to Soler on the edge of the box. He goes for the right-footed curler into the far corner but it’s easy for Sanchez.

A first bit of defending for Disasi who gives up the corner but Sanchez claims it well and Chelsea break in numbers. Palmer looks to slip on Madueke before Jackson takes over as he looks to let fly but his effort is blocked. It is so easy for Chelsea to break and find themselves in a dangerous position running at the West Ham defence.

01:47 PM BST

Unpopular substitution

Lopetgui must have heard the boos from the home fans when he decided to take off West Ham’s brightest player today, Summerville, and replace him with Antonio. It would seem his honeymoon period as West Ham manager is already well and truly over.

01:46 PM BST

57 mins: West Ham 0 Chelsea 3

Sanchez comes out to make a cool header to Cucurella from a long ball looking for Antonio. Disasi is on in place for Fofana at right back while Sancho also makes way for Neto. Another promising performance from the Englishman.

01:44 PM BST

56 mins: West Ham 0 Chelsea 3

Lopetegui has seen enough already as Alvarez and Summerville are withdrawn in place of Soler and Antonio. The crowd are really not happy to see Summerville taken off there. He was one of their brightest sparks in the opening period.

Soler is almost immediately involved down West Ham’s right but his cross is deflected and cleared. Chelsea will be bringing on Disasi.

01:42 PM BST

Early exit for some

The West Ham fans who were late to take their seats for the second half might not bother now. Jackson has added an assist to his two goals by setting up Cole Palmer. Some of those home supporters who had taken their seats appear to be heading for the exits.

01:40 PM BST

52 mins: West Ham 0 Chelsea 3

You would feel Chelsea are out of sight now but they will be desperate for a second successive away clean sheet after securing their first in 17 league games on the road at Bournemouth last week.

Wan-Bissaka plays Bowen in with a deft chip over the Chelsea defence. The forward’s first touch is slightly loose so he is forced to shoot from a tighter angle than he would have liked and Sanchez stands strong.

01:37 PM BST

GOAL! Palmer scores 71 seconds into second-half

West Ham 0 Chelsea 3 (Palmer) Chelsea do well to combine and break clear from a West Ham corner. Jackson turns provider this time as he slips in the overlapping Palmer to his left and the Englishman finishes it well off the near post. It was so important for West Ham to stay solid to have a chance of getting back into it but they have now conceded just over a minute into the second period.

01:34 PM BST

46 mins: West Ham 0 Chelsea 2

The players are back out of the tunnel and it’s Chelsea who get the second half underway kicking from left to right. No changes at half-time from either side. Can West Ham get back in it?

01:30 PM BST

Double delight for Jackson

01:28 PM BST

Two games, two assists for Sancho

Jadon Sancho has built on his debut assist with another one as he set up Nicolas Jackson for the opening goal this afternoon.

01:22 PM BST

West Ham penalty shouts

There were strong West Ham appeals for a penalty and a VAR check after this tug back on Summerville by Fofana. The home side may feel aggrieved not to have been given the decision and in turn a lifeline back into this game.

01:20 PM BST

Rodriguez hooked in first half

West Ham technical director Tim Steidten was looking very pleased with himself when he gave a pre-match interview to today’s broadcasters. He might be a bit more sheepish at full-time after seeing one of his summer signings, Guido Rodriguez, hooked after 37 pretty horrendous minutes.

01:19 PM BST

Half-time: West Ham 0 Chelsea 2

After another free-kick and corner for West Ham that threaten but don’t come to anything, the half-time whistle is blown.

While Chelsea will clearly be the happier with two well-taken goals and a clean sheet at the interval, West Ham definitely grew into the half and will be confident of making chances after the break.

01:17 PM BST

45+1 mins: West Ham 0 Chelsea 2

Sanchez makes a right mess of it as he looks to come out to claim a long ball but Kudus gets past the fumbling goalkeeper to latch onto it. He is off balance though and he can only manage an overhit cross back to the edge of the box that doesn’t find a West Ham shirt.

Summerville beats Fofana once again before being bundled over by Caicedo and winning a free-kick in a dangerous position 30 yards from goal to the left. Mavropanos heads wide from the resulting delivery. Fofana picked up a yellow card for his efforts to pull back the West Ham winger.

01:13 PM BST

43 mins: West Ham 0 Chelsea 2

Cucurella gives Paqueta a little shove as the forward looks to get past him down the right but a goal-kick is given to the Brazilian’s dismay. It sounds incredibly quiet now in the London Stadium with the West Ham fans needing something to get them back on side.

Soucek nearly provides it as Kudus’ cut back falls at his feet but his low effort is straight at Sanchez. Chelsea slow it down now before Fernandez looks to slip Sancho in but Wan-Bissaka reads it well.

01:09 PM BST

38 mins: West Ham 0 Chelsea 2

West Ham are getting ready to bring Tomas Soucek on and it looks like a tactical one with Lopetegui clearly not happy with the gaps he has seen and the ease at which Chelsea have got close to the West Ham penalty area.

Madueke is fed on the right hand side and he runs at Emerson before cutting in and letting fly. The effort goes a couple of feet wide of the left post but Madueke looked sharp there.

It’s summer-signing Rodriguez that makes way for Soucek.

01:06 PM BST

Chelsea owners sat together despite tension

Chelsea co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali are sitting together at the London Stadium today. Time will tell whether or not that is a sign that they are putting their differences aside. Both men want to buy each other out, but they’ll be delighted with what they’ve seen so far this afternoon.

01:04 PM BST

33 mins: West Ham 0 Chelsea 2

The resulting corner is flicked behind for a corner. Chelsea struggle to clear despite several attempts before the ball finds Paqueta in the box but he is crowded out.

Chelsea really struggle to get out and it’s Paqueta on the ball again but this time he looks to turn provider. He plays a great ball through to Kudus who tucks his effort away on his left foot but the flag is up.

West Ham will be disappointed not to have anything from that spell of pressure and chances but it’s more encouraging for the home side.

01:02 PM BST

31 mins: West Ham 0 Chelsea 2

There are huge West Ham appeals for a penalty here after Fofana appeared to have a hold of Summerville’s arm as he burst into the box. A Fernandez foul allows a break in play for the Video Assistant Referee to check the decision.

Eventually, the call is that they are sticking with the onfield decision with the VAR reportedly describing the contact as “fleeting”. That will divide opinion.

12:59 PM BST

28 mins: West Ham 0 Chelsea 2

Paqueta isn’t on the same wave length as Bowen as his through ball runs harmlessly through to Sanchez. While West Ham will be disappointed with the goals conceded, they are finding themselves in promising areas and you feel they will have their chances this afternoon.

A diagonal ball finds Kudus on the right who he looks to cut in past Cucurella and let fly but the Spanish left-back manages to put in a sliding block that sees the ball deflect arm into the arms of Sanchez.

12:56 PM BST

24 mins: West Ham 0 Chelsea 2

Chelsea have a chance to be in again but the the ball in behind for Madueke is slightly overhit. Down the other end West Ham find themselves in a promising position but the cross towards Paqueta is headed behind for a corner by Colwill. An important diversion by the Chelsea defender.

After a couple of half-clearances, Bowen combines with Paqueta in the box to work an opening but his left-footed effort goes high and wide.

12:52 PM BST

Jackson punishes open West Ham

Come back David Moyes, all is forgiven. West Ham are already on course for their third home defeat in the Premier League this season. Their defence has opened up twice like the Red Sea for Nicolas Jackson and he’s taken full advantage on both occasions.

12:50 PM BST

GOAL! Jackson doubles Chelsea’s lead

West Ham 0 Chelsea 2 (Jackson) Chelsea enjoy a tidy spell of possession in midfield and defence before Caicedo plays an incisive through ball in behind for Jackson to run onto and finish into the bottom left corner with the outside of his right foot. The Senegalese doubles his tally for the afternoon and while it was a nice move from Maresca’s side it felt far too easy to shift West Ham about and for Jackson to have a free run-in on goal.

12:47 PM BST

17 min: West Ham 0 Chelsea 1

West Ham look to counter on Chelsea through Summerville. The winger cuts in and does well to win the free-kick on the edge of the Chelsea box. Paqueta looks to drill it low and hard but it’s straight into the Chelsea wall.

The Brazilian looks for a chipped ball over the top for Bowen moments later but it runs through to Sanchez.

12:45 PM BST

Interesting celebration from Jackson

Nicloas Jackson appears to have a new celebration, inspired by Michael Jackson. After opening the scoring at West Ham, the striker showed off his moves with a ‘Thriller’ dance. Let’s just say the goal was better than what followed…

12:44 PM BST

13 min: West Ham 0 Chelsea 1

Wan-Bissaka does well to sweep up a through ball played into Sancho. It will be an interesting duel between the former Manchester United team-mates today.

Chelsea have a wonderful chance to double their lead as Jackson once again comes in off their left hand side before rolling a ball across to Palmer on the penalty spot who looks to stroke into the bottom right corner but it goes just wide. You would expect a man of his quality to finish that chance.

12:40 PM BST

9 min: West Ham 0 Chelsea 1

Some nice touches again from Jackson as he finds Sancho on Chelsea’s left but the winger’s disguised pass runs on to Areola this time.

Down the other end, Kudus cuts in onto his left foot before delivering an inswinging cross that is just inches over the head of Summerville.

12:36 PM BST

GOAL! Jackson strikes early for Chelsea

West Ham 0 Chelsea 1 (Jackson) Chelsea take a quick free-kick in the centre of the park. Sancho picks it up and plays a ball through to Jackson who is able to bear down on goal in the left of the box before opening his body to slot it through Areola’s legs. The London Stadium is in shock!

12:35 PM BST

3 min: West Ham 0 Chelsea 0

An early shove in the back from Kudus on Cucurella gives Chelsea a chance to establish some early possession. It looks as if Kudus may be operating on the right with Bowen taking up a central role early on.

Paqueta then leaves a late one on Palmer who momentarily stays down. West Ham have the first chance of the game as Alvarez nicks it off Fernandez and slips Kudus in down Chelsea’s left who strikes low from a tight angle but it’s saved by Sanchez.

12:31 PM BST

1 min: West Ham 0 Chelsea 0

It’s West-Ham who kick-off this London derby kicking from left to right in the glorious sunshine. Sam Barrott is the man in the middle this afternoon.

12:27 PM BST

Players make their way out

The teams have now made their way out of the tunnel at the London Stadium to a loud reception. Kick-off is just moments away.

12:23 PM BST

Full league debut for Summerville

Crysencio Summerville is making his full league debut for West Ham after his arrival from Leeds in the summer.

West Ham’s sporting director Tim Steidten, speaking to TNT Sports, said: “We bought him because we know he can be really good, but he’s really young and he needs time. I’m sure he’ll be really good today.”

It’s likely the Dutchman will be operating from the left - can he capitalise on Chelsea’s current deficiencies in the right back position?

12:20 PM BST

Kick-off approaching

We are ten minutes away from kick-off now at the London Stadium. Will Chelsea make it five away wins in a row in the Premier League and, for at least a couple of hours, climb into the top four?

Or will West Ham get their first points at the London Stadium of this campaign and potentially go level on points with today’s opponents? The action is on its way.

‘He needs more love’: Maresca ahead of Sancho’s first start

After an impressive debut from the bench against Bournemouth in which he assisted the winner, Jadon Sancho has been handed a first start for Chelsea by Enzo Maresca.

On how he is looking to get the best out of Sancho, the Chelsea boss told TNT Sports: “I think all the players at the end, they are not all the same they are different.

“In Jadon’s case, especially in this moment, after some problems, some issues, he needs more love. Since he arrived he is doing very well with us.”

Defensive frailties for West Ham

Jackson will also be excited by the fact that West Ham have failed to keep a clean sheet in 11 home league games since a goalless draw against Brighton in January.

Julen Lopetegui’s side have faced a league-high 73 shots across their opening four matches, conceding six goals in the process.

12:00 PM BST

Battle to lead the line for Chelsea

Christopher Nkunku made the difference with the winning strike against Bournemouth from the bench after first-choice striker Nicolas Jackson endured a frustrating evening in front of goal.

But it is the Senegalese forward who keeps his place and he will have fond memories of facing West Ham having scored twice in Chelsea’s 5-0 victory at Stamford Bridge in May.

On the competition between the pair, Enzo Maresca said: “We use Nkunku as nine in the last game for last 10 minutes. He is completely different to Nico [Jackson].

“Nico is a number nine, Christo is not, but we can use him as a nine in a different way.

“I’m completely happy with my squad, not just those two. They are versatile and we can use them in different positions.”

Home defeats ‘in the past’, says Lopetegui

West Ham are yet to pick up a point at home this season following defeats to Aston Villa and Manchester City.

Defeat today would mark the first time that they begin a season with three straight home league defeats.

Discussing this, Julen Lopetegui said: “All of the teams have quality and are able to beat anyone. It’s true we’ve had tough matches so far, but that’s in the past.”

11:50 AM BST

Right back weakness for Chelsea

Maresca confirmed on Friday that James and Gusto remain out with muscular injuries.

Disasi filled in at right back against Bournemouth but looked uncomfortable in and out of possession so it was no surprise to see him withdrawn on the hour mark for Tosin, with Fofana shifted out to the full back position.

They start in defence today how they finished last weekend but that could be a potential weakness that West Ham target this afternoon.

Those teams in full

West Ham: Areola, Wan-Bissaka, Mavropanos, Kilman, Emerson, Alvarez, Rodriguez, Bowen, Paqueta, Summerville, Kudus.

Subs: Antonio, Coufal, Cresswell, Fabianski, Ings, Irving, Soler, Soucek, Todibo.

Subs: Badiashile, Dewsbury-Hall, Disasi, Felix, Jorgensen, Mudryk, Neto, Nkunku, Veiga

11:38 AM BST

Sancho starts for Chelsea

Jadon Sancho’s impressive second-half debut has earned him a spot in the starting eleven as he comes in for Pedro Neto. Enzo Fernandez and Tosin Adarabioyo are also in from the start in place of Axel Disasi and Renato Veiga.

Preview: Chelsea look to continue impressive away record as West Ham hope for first home points

Good morning and welcome to live coverage of West Ham United vs Chelsea from the Premier League. The visitors are looking to make it five wins on the spin away from home in the competition in a record dating back to last season, while Julen Lopetegui’s men are on the hunt for their first points at the London Stadium in this campaign.

Enzo Maresca’s side rode their luck to clinch a 1-0 win over Bournemouth and their first clean sheet on the road in 18 league games last weekend, thanks to Christopher Nkunku’s late goal after Evanilson had a penalty saved for the hosts. Jadon Sancho’s impressive debut and assist for the winner was another positive for the Italian manager following a build-up to the game clouded by rifts among the club’s hierarchy.

West Ham also left it late at Craven Cottage on matchday four as Danny Ings’ 95th-minute equaliser snatched a point in a 1-1 draw against Fulham. The east-London side’s only win this season came in yet another London Derby in the opening weeks of their campaign, as they beat struggling Crystal Palace 2-0 at Selhurst Park, meaning they are down in 14th.

Despite the narrow margin of victory on the South Coast, which leaves Chelsea in eighth, Nkunku’s goal was their seventh away from home in the league this season after their 6-2 dismantling of Wolves. The introduction of the Frenchman, along with Sancho and Joao Felix, in the second half at the Vitality Stadium highlighted the quality at Maresca’s disposal in the final third.

West Ham will be particularly cautious of this after their 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in May. Despite that, they will take confidence from their 3-1 victory in the reverse fixture when they met at the London Stadium in the second week of the campaign.
