High school football: Check out the top 5 offensive linemen in the Lubbock area

As we count down to the start of the 2023 high school football season, we'll examine the top five players at seven position groups. First up are offensive linemen. Players are listed in alphabetical order.

Dane Armes, Sr., New Home

Armes graded out at 96% last season with 51 pancakes and 79 knockdowns. He was an all-district first-team selection.

Kelton Carver, Jr., Abernathy

The 6-foot-3, 260-pound Carver is garnering Division I interest. He made the all-district first team in 2022.

Holton Hendrix, Sr., Lubbock-Cooper

Hendrix, a 6-3, 275-pounder, is committed to Texas Tech. He's played four positions on the O-line for the Pirates.

Eli Hicks, Sr., Frenship

Hicks made the all-District 2-6A second team last season while blocking for one of the area's best offenses.

Kasen Long, Sr., Shallowater

Long, a 6-6, 250-pound tackle, is committed to Texas Tech. He was second-team all-state.
