Powerball jumps to $1 billion, Texas player wins $2 million Match 5 + Power Play prize

No winner has been declared in Powerball's Monday drawing, meaning the jackpot will jump to $1 billion during the lottery game's next drawing on Monday. That mark puts it at second largest Powerball jackpot all-time and in the top-ten of U.S. lottery games.

Powerball's jackpot was last won on Aug. 3 when a lottery player in Ohio won $252.6 million.

Powerball winning numbers

The winning numbers for Wednesday night's drawing were 5-8-9-17-41 and the Powerball is 21. The Power Play was 4x.

Were there Powerball winners in Saturday's drawing?

No one matched all six numbers to win the Powerball.

According to Powerball, three Match 5 + Power Play winners won $2 million, including a player in Georgia, another in Arkansas, and one in Texas, too. Five Match 5 winners won $1 million as well. They were located in Connecticut, Florida, Kentucky , New York, and Pennsylvania.

What were the largest jackpots in lottery history?

The last highest jackpot for a national lottery drawing was recently, with a record $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot being won in California on Nov. 7, 2022.

The biggest Mega Millions jackpot was won on Oct. 23, 2018 in South Carolina. It was worth $1.537 billion.

Lotto Texas and Mega Millions numbers

The latest Lotto Texas numbers for Monday were 18-34-38-41-49-54. It was worth $8 million, but there was no winner, pushing the jackpot to $8.25 million Wednesday.

The latest Mega Millions numbers for Friday were 10-24-48-51-66 and the Megaball was 15, with a Megaplier of 2. A jackpot of $560 million was not won, but Match 5 winners each won a $1 million prize. Two of those winners were in California and another was in North Carolina. A player in South Carolina won the Match 5 with the Megaplier, meaning they won $2 million.

The next drawing is planned for Tuesday with a jackpot of $640 million.
