Tracking Alabama baseball players in the 2023 MLB Draft

Alabama baseball is hoping to open the Rob Vaughn era by extending its MLB Draft streak to 45 years.

The Crimson Tide was led by outfielder Andrew Pinckney, who was selected as the first pick of the fourth round by the Washington Nationals as the first Alabama player off the board. The first Crimson Tide signee off the board, however, was first-rounder Bryce Eldridge. Eldridge was taken 16th overall by the San Francisco Giants on Sunday night.

Drafted: Round 4 (102nd overall) by the Washington Nationals

What to know: The first pick of the fourth round, Pinckney started all 64 games for the Crimson Tide in 2023, splitting time between right field and center field. He was named to the All-SEC Second Team after the season.

LHP Grayson Hitt

Drafted: Round 4 (112th overall) by the Arizona Diamondbacks

Slot Value: $597,500

What to know: Hitt was in MLB.com's top 250 prospects prior to the draft, but his stock fell after an elbow injury in early April. He underwent Tommy John surgery and missed the final two months of the season.

LHP Hunter Furtado

Drafted: Round 6 (167th overall) by the Pittsburgh Pirates

What to know: Furtado was one of the most reliable bullpen arms for the Crimson Tide in 2023. He even made a crucial start for Alabama against Kentucky in the SEC Tournament, going five innings.

OF Caden Rose

Drafted: Round 7 (208th overall) by the Boston Red Sox

Slot Value: $250,300

What to know: Rose adds versatility to Boston, playing in the outfield and the infield during his time in Tuscaloosa.

SS Jim Jarvis

Drafted: Round 11 (320th overall) by the Detroit Tigers

Slot Value: N/A

What to know: Jarvis leaves Tuscaloosa as one of the most popular players in program history, capping his career with a Gold Glove as the top defensive shortstop in college baseball.

RHP Garrett McMillan

Drafted: Round 14 (407th overall) by the Pittsburgh Pirates

Slot Value: N/A

What to know: McMillan was limited to 10 games in 2023 due to a shoulder injury. He was previously drafted by the Minnesota Twins in 2022.

1B/RHP Bryce Eldridge

Drafted: Round 1 (16th overall) by the San Francisco Giants

What to know: Eldridge and the Giants have until August 1 to come to an agreement on a contract. If they can't, Eldridge will head to Tuscaloosa.

What to know: Pilon, a native of Quebec, was ranked as one of Perfect Game's top high school recruits in Canada.
