Worcester Public Library book vending machine to be unveiled Friday at Union Station

WORCESTER - The new Worcester Public Library book vending machine at Union Station will be formally unveiled during an event at 3 p.m. Friday at Union Station, 2 Washington Square.

According to an announcement by the Worcester Public Library, the City of Worcester and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, with the assistance of the Institute of Museum and Library Services, have funded public library book vending machines at three locations in the city - the YMCA on Main Street, Union Station, and the Worcester Senior Center.

The public library book vending machines are in "high-traffic locations in our city, to help put books in the hands of members of our community," the announcement states.

City officials, staff and patrons of the Worcester Public Library, and representative from the Massachusetts Library Board of Commissioners will be on hand at Union Station for the 3 p.m. Friday unveiling.
