It's a happy ending for the orange cat that the internet fell in love with. Cashie was left all by his lonesome when his betta fish bestie Violet died. Thousands of people tuned in to watch his mom try and find him a replacement BFF, but to no avail. Until recently, when the cat mom revealed the ultimate surprise for her poor cat.

Cashie was heartbroken when Violet died, but a new update is giving everyone some hope.

We love to see things turn out alright and in this case they really did. As the orange cat's owner explained, she'd been looking for a replacement bestie for Cashie for days now. In the footage, she showed that they'd even gotten him some toy fish to keep him company while they searched for the perfect replacement betta.

The owner decided to really do it right this time. She got a larger tank and made it nice and cozy for the moment that they finally brought the new fish home. Cashie was positively thrilled. We know he can't talk or anything, but if he could we know he'd be chatting his owner's ear off about his new friend. They've since named the betta Tango. Tango and Cashie — there's a nice ring to that.

Commenters were so excited for Cashie. They will be the best of friends. "Not the welcome home banner!!! Omggggg so sweet," gushed one person. "No I'm actually like full on in tears right now this is the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen. I just know Cashie and Tango are going to be BEST friends," someone else added. "I can’t explain why this truly made me emotional but I am so happy for the two of them," a third person wrote. "Yay Cashie!! You have a new friend! Welcome home Tango!" cheered one commenter.

Cashie Was So Sad After His Betta Died

Cashie's story first caught attention online shortly after Violet's death. In a video his mama shared, she explained that Cashie and Violet had been together since Cashie was adopted. But when the fish unexpectedly passed, it was clear that the cat was missing his pal.

"He loved her so much and cried out for her days following her passing," she explained in the clip.

When the cat mom first went to get Cashie a replacement fish, she brought him along to the pet store. But alas there weren't any bettas in stock so they had to wait. It almost seemed like they'd never get Cashie a new fish. But as this latest video shows she ultimately made his wish come true.

Here's to Cashie and Tango. Cashie will never forget Violet, but we're sure there are many happy times ahead.
