Tom Cruise Helps Close The Paris Olympics With Serious Dose Of Hollywood Magic

Los Angeles’ Olympics era started on a high note as the 2024 games wrapped in Paris on Sunday.

Tom Cruise brought some serious Hollywood magic to the closing ceremony, where he jumped from the top of the Stade de France toward the stadium field to mark the start of LA’s Olympic journey.

Dressed in a movie star-perfect leather jacket, the “Mission: Impossible” actor deftly descended from the sky after artist H.E.R. finished a rousing rendition of the “Star-Spangled Banner.”

Once on the ground, Cruise grabbed an Olympics flag from gold medal gymnast Simone Biles and LA Mayor Karen Bass before hopping onto a nearby motorcycle.

The epic stunt was followed by a pre-taped sequence of Cruise skydiving toward LA’s Hollywood sign, where he helped adorn the Southern California landmark with the Olympics’ five iconic rings.

From there, the scene headed to Venice Beach, where California rockers Red Hot Chili Peppers performed their classic, “Can’t Stop.”

The band’s set was followed by songs from famous Angelenos Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre.

The closing ceremony was a thrilling way to pass the torch from Paris to Los Angeles, which will host the 2028 summer games.
