Tom Daley to let Olympics partner Noah Williams tattoo him

Watch: Tom Daley is letting Noah Williams tattoo him to celebrate Olympic win

Tom Daley has revealed he plans to celebrate his latest Olympic medal in a unique way - by letting his diving partner tattoo him.

Daley racked up an incredible fifth Olympic medal in Paris, winning silver in the men's synchronised 10m platform diving alongside partner Noah Williams. But it seems yet another medal for the trophy cabinet isn't enough for Daley.

Speaking to Good Morning Britain the day after his silver medal performance at Paris 2024, he shared his plans on getting a commemorative tattoo which he is going to allow aspiring tattoo artist Williams to do as "practice". He will design something for Williams to get inked, too.

Williams added: "I said to (Daley) before when we first started training that if we medalled I'd get a tattoo. So I'm letting him draw and design something and then I'll get it for him." He then revealed: "I said I'd give him a tattoo."

Daley explained: "He is actually learning how to do tattoos so I said that he could practise on me."

Asked about the design he had planned, Williams said: "I'm just going to do a little dot dot smiley face, something simple."

GMB's reporter asked keen knitter Daley whether his design could feature knitting needles and he said: "I mean, I'll draw some knitting needles."

But Williams replied: "Mine will be a little more complex but yeah, that'd be fun."

Elsewhere in the interview, Daley explained that five-year-old son Robbie had convinced him to compete again. "My son is the reason why I came back and if you'd told me 18 months ago that I'd be back in the Olympics, back diving with a silver medal, I probably would have laughed at you," he said. "But here I am, with Noah, and we managed to do it."

Following his dive, Daley spoke about how "special" it was for husband Dustin Lance Black and their two children Robbie, five, and one-year-old Phoenix to be able to watch him compete.

Laughing that Phoenix had thrown a juice cup at him during his post-competition interviews, Daley told The Guardian about the sacrifices his actor husband had made to support his training.

He said: "The people closest to Olympic athletes don’t get enough credit for how much they really have to sacrifice and support. My husband has been there all year to be able to take the reins with the kids when I’ve gone to training camp or competition.

"He has a career of his own and he has been prepared at times to put that to one side for me to be able to achieve my goals... It’s just so special to have somebody who has your back and supports you unconditionally."

Good Morning Britain airs on ITV1 at 6am on weekdays.
