Trump Declares Hatred For Taylor Swift After Harris Endorsement

Former President Donald Trump spent his Sunday morning on social media blasting those supporting Vice President Kamala Harris for president in November ― including pop superstar Taylor Swift.

“I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” the Republican candidate posted on his Truth Social platform, immediately after another post where he calls “rich, job creating people” who support Harris “STUPID.”

Swift, who was once known for avoiding public talk about politics, announced her much-anticipated endorsement of Harris just minutes after ABC News’ presidential debate ended Tuesday night. The endorsement came in the form of an Instagram post featuring the 14-time Grammy Award winner with one of her cats ― a nod to Trump’s running mate, Sen. JD Vance (Ohio), who received widespread backlash after trying to belittle Democratic women who don’t have kids as “childless cat ladies.”

In her massively influential endorsement of the Democratic ticket, the singer said Harris “fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.”

“I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos,” Swift continued, adding that she was “heartened and impressed” that Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz was chosen to be the candidate’s running mate because she said he has been “standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.”

Swift’s Democratic endorsement was partly in response to Trump sharing AI-generated images of women wearing “Swifties for Trump” T-shirts. Because her team didn’t condemn the images at the time, the public ― including the singer’s fiercely loyal fan base ― wondered if Swift would dodge endorsing a candidate altogether this year.

Trump initially reacted to Swift’s Democratic endorsement last week by claiming he never even liked her, despite once telling Variety co-editor-in-chief Ramin Setoodeh that the superstar is “unusually beautiful” and “talented” with “great star quality.”

“I was not a Taylor Swift fan. It was just a question of time,” the GOP candidate told “Fox & Friends” host Steve Doocy on Wednesday. “She couldn’t, you couldn’t possible endorse [President Joe] Biden. You look at Biden, you couldn’t possibly endorse him.”

“But she’s a very liberal person,” he continued. “She seems to always endorse a Democrat and she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace.”

Swift endorsed Biden for president in 2020.

“Voters know ‘All Too Well’ how dangerous Trump and his Project 2025 agenda will be if he wins. This November, we can make sure this is ‘The Last Time’ we have to deal with his ‘End Game’ of jacking up taxes on the middle class and ripping away Americans’ freedoms,’” Harris-Walz spokesperson Sarafina Chitika said in a statement filled with references to Swift’s discography.

“Together, we can turn the page on the Trump Era and write a new chapter where all Americans ‘Breathe’ easy knowing we have strong, steady leadership at the helm,” she continued. “We can make sure ‘The Story of Us’ is one of progress ― and show Donald Trump we are not going ‘Back to December’ of 2020. Like ever.”
