Lilly is waiting for the "one" — the one to take her home forever that is. The Pit Bull has been languishing at the Humane Society of Broward County in Florida. All she's been able to do is watch so many of her friends get adopted — but no one has come to claim the Pittie for their own.

As the shelter themselves described it, the Pit Bull was "used and discarded" when they found her. Now all she needs is someone to see how special she is.

There are so many dogs who end up in shelters like Lilly. But things can change in an instant if the right person comes along. According to a video the shelter shared on her behalf, the Pit Bull spends most of her day waiting in her kennel.. watching other dogs get adopted. That's been hard for the dog to see.

"She doesn't understand why she's being overlooked," the text overlay reads. "Lilly is playful and affectionate and has so much love to give," they pointed out.

The comments section was behind Lilly. They were hoping she would find her fur-ever home soon. "Please someone help this baby," begged one commenter. "Please, somebody adopt beautiful angel," another commenter agreed. "Someone will come, Mama. Someone will come," chimed in someone else. "Hope she finds a loving family, such a sweet girl," praised another person.

More About Lilly the Pit Bull

Lilly would make a great pet for any home. According to the shelter, they found Lilly "wandering along Las Olas Blvd."

The 3-year-old might be shy at first, "but once she trusts you she becomes incredibly affectionate," they added.

"She adores being petted, giving hugs, and sharing kisses," they explained. The dog also loves "to chase toys and then settle down beside you for more pets and belly rubs."

If you have a cat, it's no biggie. Lilly is "unbothered" by the creatures, but is actually a little more picky when it comes to other dogs.

"A meet-and-greet is recommended," the shelter wrote.

The Pittie knows basic commands like "sit" and is trainable. She particularly loves peanut butter, bananas, blueberries, and pup cups — something to keep in mind during training.

"If you’re looking for a companion with a great mix of energy and calmness, Lilly is your girl!" the shelter exclaimed.

If you or someone you know is interested in Lilly, you'll want to head to the Humane Broward County website.
